When starting a new ubuntu gutsy system for development it is very recommend to have the latest sources of the program you want to develop. Of course. Usually you download it, unpack it, read the Readme, where you can might find some dependencies. Might not. Afterwards you do a './configure' and has to install other missing packages. For Elisa-Developement it is very usefull to use the latest svn sources of elisa itself and of course of pigment. And using Ubuntu Gutsy, there is a faster way than try-and-error on installing the missing dependencies.

The m2n dh has a real good function. You get a remote controller shipped with it, with which you can wakeup your system from suspend. Yes. Thats really cool and well, I tried it: It is not working in Suspend-To-Ram (also called Standby), from which my gutsy can wake up correctly, but it is working in Suspend-From-Disk (called Hibernate), which is not working with my gutsy.

The Screen simply stays black after rebooting. I get the nvidia bootmessages and then the screen is turning off. I tried this and this (which is mainly the same). At the end this worked for me:

editing the /etc/X11/xorg and adding the AGP option with the value 1 to the nvidia drivers:

The second thing to do, is to edit the /etc/default/acpi-support. Here you have to disable 'SAVE_VBE_STATE', 'POST_VIDEO' and 'USE_DPMS' and you have to enable 'SAVE_VIDEO_PCI_STATE' (you might have to uncomment it).

For my elisa Digital Home System, I made an install of Gutsy Tribe 4.

I had plugged in one Sata-Drive and two IDE-CD-Drives. Well, it worked fine and I guess it also works good with Tribe5 (but I don't think, I'm going to test it ). It autodetected all devices including the nvidia onboard graphics card. You better dont install it on the livecd or the installed config-files for xorg won't work. Believe me: installing the nvidia-property drivers later using the ubuntu manager is much easier and better.

It also detected the wlan drivers, so that I didn't even had to plug in a network cable. But it using the property drivers as well (bad). They seem to work with standby and also do wpa (psk). Well, I think that is okay. Before you ask me, I've only a VGA-Monitor to plug it in, so I can't say anything about the drivers with DVI yet... Sorry...

Because Gutsy is still in hard development, I try to make an update everytime I work on that maschiene. If the things you read here, doesn't work for you, it might be a problem of updates (that you didn't or that you did do).
